Veterans Program
Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) Coverage
Some Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) members may have coverage for eligible medical services through Blue Cross Medavie. Coverage decisions are made by VAC and its insurers and are subject to their policies and approval processes.
Toronto Ketamine Clinic can assist VAC members by providing required clinical documentation and coordinating with referring clinicians, where appropriate, to support coverage inquiries.
Typically, this process involves:
- Obtaining a referral from a psychiatrist or primary care provider, and
- Submitting the referral to TKC for clinical review.
Coverage is not guaranteed and remains subject to VAC and insurer determination.

Veterans Discount Program
For veterans who are not eligible for VAC coverage, Toronto Ketamine Clinic offers a 10% reduction on clinic treatment fees for qualifying veterans. This program applies to clinic fees only and does not imply clinical suitability or treatment outcomes.
Please contact the clinic for additional details regarding eligibility.

Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) – Frequently Asked Questions
Is ketamine treatment covered by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC)?
Some Veterans Affairs Canada members may be eligible for coverage of certain medical services through VAC and its insurers, including Blue Cross Medavie. Coverage decisions are made solely by VAC and are subject to individual eligibility, clinical documentation, and prior approval requirements.
Toronto Ketamine Clinic does not determine VAC coverage and cannot guarantee reimbursement.
What do I need to apply for VAC coverage?
VAC typically requires:
- A referral from a psychiatrist or primary care provider
- Relevant clinical documentation supporting the referral
- Submission of information for review by VAC or its insurer
Requirements may vary depending on the individual case. Toronto Ketamine Clinic can assist by reviewing referral completeness and providing clinic-related documentation upon request.
Can Toronto Ketamine Clinic submit claims to VAC on my behalf?
Toronto Ketamine Clinic may assist with providing documentation needed for VAC or insurer review. However, claim submission processes, approvals, and reimbursement decisions are managed by VAC and its designated insurers.
Patients are encouraged to confirm submission and reimbursement details directly with VAC or Blue Cross Medavie.
What if my VAC coverage is declined?
If VAC coverage is not approved, Toronto Ketamine Clinic offers a 25% reduction on clinic treatment fees for eligible veterans. This reduction applies to clinic fees only and does not imply clinical suitability, effectiveness, or treatment outcomes.
Do I need to be actively serving to qualify?
No. The veterans program is available to eligible Canadian veterans regardless of current service status. VAC coverage eligibility is determined by Veterans Affairs Canada and may depend on individual service history and benefit status.
Does participation in the Veterans Program affect my other VAC benefits?
Participation in services at Toronto Ketamine Clinic does not automatically affect other VAC benefits. For questions regarding benefit coordination or implications, veterans are encouraged to speak directly with VAC or a VAC case manager.
Can my referring clinician coordinate care with TKC?
With patient consent, Toronto Ketamine Clinic may communicate with referring clinicians to support care coordination and continuity. TKC does not replace a patient’s existing healthcare providers.
Is this an emergency or crisis service?
No. Toronto Ketamine Clinic does not provide emergency or crisis services. Veterans experiencing an emergency or mental health crisis should contact local emergency services or appropriate crisis support resources.
Who can I contact if I have questions?
Veterans and referring clinicians may contact Toronto Ketamine Clinic for general information about referrals, documentation, and clinic processes. Contacting the clinic does not create a treatment relationship or obligation to proceed with care.
