OUR TREATMENT PROCESS

Ketamine Treatment and KAP (Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy)

  1. Referral

The first step to access ketamine therapy is to have your GP or Psychiatrist send us a referral form. A link to the referral form can be found here.

  1. Assessment

Once we have reviewed your referral, we will set up a virtual assessment with our psychiatrist. We can usually have this assessment completed within 1 week of receiving the referral form

Once you are approved by the TKC psychiatrist you will be able to join our most current treatment session.

  1. Preparation

Every patient who is getting KAP will have an initial treatment preparation session before your Ketamine exploration treatments begin. You will discuss your hopes and goals, expectations, hesitancies for treatment.  This is a good time to set some intentions and create a positive mindset going into your ketamine session. This is also a good time to voice any concerns or fears that you may have going into treatment. The therapist is there to help you work through these natural feelings, while helping you to set a positive mindset as your treatments begins.

  1. Ketamine treatment exploration session

Ketamine treatment sessions typically take place over a 3-5 week period.  You would come to our downtown Toronto clinic for up to 2 sessions per week.  Come to the clinic in comfortable clothes.  Let our staff make your journey as comfortable as possible, This is where the healing begins.

  1. Integration

You will start your integration sessions after you have completed your first ketamine session. During altered states ketamine therapy can alter and enhance neuroplasticity states.  This process helps to grow and developing new connections throughout the brain.  This can create fertile ground to meaningful therapy sessions.

Our licensed therapist will guide you through these integrations sessions and explore and sift through all that comes up.  These sessions can very insightful and very rewarding in helping you achieve your treatment goals.

  1. Psychiatrists follow up

During the acute stage of ketamine therapy, you will meet with the TKC psychiatrist 4 times over the course of your treatment.  The purpose of this is to monitor how you are progressing and to make dosing adjustments as needed to help you to optimize your treatment.

  1. Post treatment follow up

If a patient does not have a therapist or would like additional support.  TKC therapists work with members to integrate learning during their ketamine infusions into their daily lives.
